General questions

  • What is a lifting arm?

A lifting arm is a mechanical or hydraulic lifting device used to safely lift and position heavy workpieces. CNC LiftArm is specifically designed for CNC manufacturing, where workpieces need to be handled accurately in limited space around the machine.

  • What makes CNC LiftArm different from other lifting solutions?

An overhead crane or jib crane needs a supporting structure, installation work and often a shared queue: the operator waits for the crane to become available. CNC LiftArm stands next to the machine, is ready to use straight away and is operated by the operator alone.

The hydraulic system with two-speed push buttons allows the workpiece to be placed precisely, and 360° rotation keeps it usable in tight spaces around the machine.

Solutions and compatibility

  • How do I choose the right lifting solution?

Start with the weight of your heaviest workpiece and the space you have around the machine. Up to 125 kg the CNC LiftArm 125 is sufficient; up to 250 kg you need the CNC LiftArm 250. If the arm has to reach further around the machine, choose the 125L with its extended reach.

Also consider whether the arm stays at one machine or has to move between machines. Every model is optionally available with a movable base plate for use with a pallet truck.

  • Should I choose a fixed or movable CNC LiftArm?

Choose the fixed version when the arm serves one machine or one fixed workstation. It is bolted to the floor and takes up the least space.

Choose the movable version when several machines share one arm. The base plate is designed for a pallet truck, so the arm can be repositioned in minutes without any installation work.

  • When should I choose the long-reach version?

Choose the CNC LiftArm 125L when the arm has to cover a larger working area around the machine — for example when the machine table is deep, when the arm has to reach past a chip conveyor, or when one arm serves both the machine and an adjacent workbench.

The 125L has the same maximum load of 125 kg as the standard 125, but with an extended reach.

Applications and benefits

  • Is a lifting arm only suitable for CNC machines?

No. CNC LiftArm is designed for CNC manufacturing, but it is used anywhere heavy workpieces have to be handled accurately: loading and unloading machining centres, positioning parts on measuring machines, and general metalworking such as deburring, assembly and material handling between workstations.
